Filming and editing equipment rental and operator hire

We provide filming and editing equipment rental and operator hire to other film makers in Cornwall and beyond. It falls into 3 main categories:

Dry hire –  This simply involves hiring the equipment – whether this be camera, studio or underwater equipment, a drone or edit suite – without an operator. We do require evidence of competence in all cases of hiring equipment.

Operator hire – Operator hire involves one of our cameramen or editors operating your equipment but we would not ourselves supply any equipment

Operator inclusive of kit – This options includes the hiring of our equipment and a cameraman/editor/drone pilot along with all of their expertise.

Why use our camera equipment & operating services?

Proper equipment is prohibitively expensive to buy, and no sooner have you bought it, then it is out of date. Hiring provides you with best available equipment and skilled operators at affordable rates. Our hiring services are particularly useful for film companies on location filming in Cornwall based elsewhere in the UK or beyond. These companies may suddenly find the need for specific equipment, or encounter a malfunction in their own kit. They don’t need to have replacements express couriered from expensive rental houses in London – we are right here on the spot!

Is it just a full editing service or do we offer an isolated editing service?

We are totally flexible and can fit your needs. You are welcome to visit us with your footage and we can manage the editing.

With editing, you have the option to dry hire one of the edit suites based in our harbourside studio in Porthleven, Cornwall, allowing you to get on with your own editing. Alternatively, you can use our team to work on your edits. In these situations, we always prefer to sit in on the edit to ensure you get exactly the product you require. If your shoot is based in Cornwall you can visit our studio each day to view your rushes and upload your content to your home studio or client.

What are the costs for hiring filming equipment?

We are very flexible in our costings depending on how much equipment you rent and for how long. We do not have a specific rate card for equipment dry hire – we generally check the going rate and make sure we beat that! For wet hire of operator and equipment we generally follow our daily rate card. If for periods shorter than a day we charge on a pro rata basis.
