Product filming. This was a very different and interesting job. Product filming to promote a new game called Arlukkachase. It was really fun to get creative and come up with some interesting idea of how to make the cards come to life. Starting from scratch, we set up a studio to create exactly what the client envisaged for his film. Another interesting fact is that the client was Manchester based. So all work was carried out remotely.

Filming Arlukka Chase 1

It was great to scale things right down, the possibilities opened right up. The control you have in a studio with lights and the fact that the subject is only the size of paying cards is amazing. We are more used to filming people in very uncontrolled locations, like outdoors and in spaces that we cannot change things. With the cards we were able to create a whole new environment. We were able to spin and throw and manoeuvre the subject with ease.

Studio 2

Another interesting thing was filming at home in our studio. In addition to our edit suite we have two other studio spaces for filming here. And we call River’s music room Studio 2

So, in Studio 2 we were able to get our media into the edit suite on the spot. That enabled us to check shots, try ideas and then jump straight back on the camera to tweak things or try something new. The packaging was also very important to the client so needed to be focused on.

We enjoyed the challenge of a completely new style of filming. And we are very proud of the result. We have done a lot of promotional filming in the past. But this project made us appreciate the potential of using Studio 2 for this type of work. We are hoping to do much more product filming in the future.

Anyway, this is what you have been waiting for! Because here is the final edit. The client was delighted
