A night to remember!

So when they were planning a major concert at Hall for Cornwall they asked us to film the event.

And what a night it was! A sell-out crowd including even standing only tickets. In addition to The Oggymen, Helston Town Band and Treverva Male Voice Choir made stunning contributions to the evening. Plus Betty Stoggs danced her own interpretation of Fat Bottomed Girls!

Chariots of Oggymen

The show started with a video on screen – that we had produced – being the Oggymen’s take on Chariots of Fire.

Thrilling the capacity crowd, the Oggymen performed many classics. Helston Town Band marching on stage playing the Flora Dance was a wonderful surprise.

Plus the backstage curtain lifting to reveal the assembled Treverva Male Voice Choir.

Another surprise guest was Betty Stoggs who fronted the lad’s performance of Queen’s “Fat Bottomed Girls”.

Other moving moments were the playing to a hushed and darkened auditorium of the actual radio transmissions as a prelude to a moving rendition of Solomon Browne. Another highlight in a night of highlights was the performance of Last Leviathan.

Everyone had fun!

Our camera crew

Our camera crew on the night were Fionn Crow as director of photography. Ably assisting Fionn with secondary cameras were John Boyle and Sam Melvin.

We are honoured to now be working on the edit of the whole concert. Hopefully the film will be released before Christmas. Following on from that we will be working with the lads to release videos of individual songs that they performed on the night.

For everyone involved it was a a truly memorable night. Because it is rare to witness such a joyous celebration of all things Cornish! plus for us it was great to yet again be filming at Hall for Cornwall…
