In a recent project we worked on, the producer wanted a wooden rowing boat. He had found one through an agency. But the boat was a 600 mile return journey away. Not only would he have to pay for transport. he would also have to pay for someone from the hirer to be present throughout filming. We sourced a local boat for a fraction of the cost.
