One of my favourite times of the year is late June, when the Eden Sessions take place in Cornwall. And I get the chance to be camera operator filming some of the planet’s leading music stars.

In one of Cornwall’s most spectacular surroundings, each year some of the top musicians in the world perform. And for several years now I have been fortunate to be part of the crew filming their performances.

Filming in Cornwall means that you have the chance to turn your skills to an amazing array of subjects in some incredible locations. Already in 2018 I have filmed yachts at sea, music and food festivals, and an animated childrens book, as well as working with incredibly talented furniture and childrens clothing designers.

One of my specialities as a cameraman working in Cornwall is producing music videos for some of the incredibly talented musicians in the county. But working as camera operator filming music – whether music videos or live concerts such as The Eden Sessions is my favourite part of the job.

In previous years I have filmed the Kaiser Chiefs, Ellie Golding, Motorhead, Lionel Richie, Madness and Van Morrison to name a few. Tom Jones last year was one of my favourites – what an amazing performance!

The last session I filmed was Gary Barlow for the BBC iPlayer. The full gig is no longer available but there are some clips on the iPlayer.

I’m waiting to see the line-up for the 2019 Eden Sessions. If previous years are anything to go by, there should be some amazing gigs ahead.

Eden Session TV have a Youtube Channel where you can watch a lot of the performances.
